Kahoot – Ancient Olympics

LI : to recall our knowledge on the Ancient Olympics at speed.

For this task we play a game of Kahoot, this Kahoot what based on the ancient Olympics we had to recall what we learnt. What I learnt about the ancient olympics is that the ancient Olympics started in 776 BC and they banned trainings in 394AD. Women couldn’t participate in the ancient Olympics they couldn’t even observe what the men were doing but women could only train horses or stay home and do chores.

I found this interesting because I got to learn what men and women did at the ancient Olympics, I got to learn about Zeus and Heraean games.

 

Tivaevae design

On cook island language week we were challenged to make a tivaevae Design to celebrate cook island language week. To create a tivaevae design I had to do some researching about tivaevae designs and I saw so many colors and different types of flowers and leaves. I was thinking of what colors to do but I decided to do gradient and keep the colors as nature as possible

I found this activity interesting because I got to learn what a tivaevae design are and why is important to cook islanders, I also learnt some facts about the tivaevae design like Did you know that designs can include geometric shapes, flowers and animal designs.

Rosie Ruiz – Reading

LI: LI: To find information (facts) and retell it in less words

LI: To make inferences about the events in the text using the clues provided by the author.

 

In reading we read about Rosie Ruiz and i learnt that she fake winning the Boston marathon in the text it did not say why she cheated but in the text we had to comment our predictions on what we think the story is gonna be about. We all discuss what we wrote to see if anyone disagree or agree with you. We  have used our smart searching skills to see what the meaning of the word we don’t understand.

Something I found interesting was commenting our predictions and discussing as a group to see if we all agree or disagree. Something I learnt about this text is that if you cheat you will succeed.
