For this Summer Learnign Jorney Activity I was challenged to create a Zentagle Art, I had 3 options, a scallop, a breach, or an ammon. I chose to draw a scallop since to me, it stood out compared to the other seashells. I made a blending stump using the link provided, a pencil, and paper. I followed the video on how to make my scallop and started shading. My favourite part was adding the curves onto the shell. Lastly, I signed it to show that I made it and now my scallop is complete.
I Enjoyed this Summer Learning Jorney Activity because I got to draw and learn about Zentagle Art.
Kia ora Mareta,
It’s Charlotte again, a blog commenter for the Summer Learning Journey. Fantastic job on this activity! How do you find it?
I find zentangle art lots of fun! Did you know it was actually created as a form of meditation, that is why you might feel quite relaxed while completing your zentangle art! What other activities do you do to relax? I like swimming peacefully at the beach.
I can see that you have drawn your zentangle art in the shape of a shell. What a great idea! I actually have a shell collection at home and think they are beautiful. Do you have any collections?

Kia ora Mareta,
Your seashell art looks AMAZING! I like the way you did your shading and the extra details such as the lines. It brought everything together. Was using the blending stump useful? Why/Why not?
Keep up the great work,

Hi Mareta
My name is Marii
I am from St Patrick’s school
I really loved your drawing.
It is so beautiful I think maybe it might win an art contest.
All the shading that you did must have been hard work for you.
I cannot wait to try this activity out too.
It looks like great fun and hard work to do.
Have fun with the Summer Learning Journey
And have a wonderful Holiday with your Family.

Kia ora Mareta, I’m Whaea Michelle, a Manaiakalani Facilitator in the Horowhenua. I’m so pleased to see you had a go at my Zentangle activity!
Your breech creation looks amazing. The brilliance about Zentangling is that each creation looks unique and reflects a little about the creator. You did a great job at the curved lines, they really help give your shell shape.
I don’t get to Zentangle as often as I’d like to, but find it a very calming thing to do. All other thoughts leave my mind. Have you had a go at doing any drawing or art since this activity? How did you find it?
Ngā mihi,
